## Frequently asked questions

Do you accept my insurance?

We’re in-network with most major plans — including Aetna, Anthem, Beacon Health Options, Carelon, Cigna, Evernorth, and more. Not sure about yours? Use “Verify your coverage” below and our team will confirm your benefits, or give us a call.

How soon can I be seen?

Same-week appointments are often available for new patients. Reach out and we’ll match you with a provider and find a time that works for you.

Will you just put me on medication?

No. Nothing is started, changed, or stopped without talking it through with you first. Care begins with a thorough psychiatric evaluation; if medication is one of your options, your provider explains the benefits, the risks, and the possible side effects in plain language, and you decide together. Many people want to understand their options before deciding anything — that’s exactly what the first visit is for.

Do you offer therapy as well?

Our care is psychiatric: diagnosis, treatment planning, and ongoing medication management. We don’t provide talk therapy in house, but we coordinate therapy referrals when they would help — so the two sides of your care stay connected rather than separate.

What ages do you treat?

We care for children (6–17), adults and elders (65+) — in person in Long Beach or by secure telehealth across California. If someone’s needs fall outside what we treat, we’ll say so honestly and help point you toward the right care.

Do you offer telehealth or virtual visits?

Yes. We provide secure video visits across greater Los Angeles and all of California, alongside in-person care at our Long Beach office — so you can get support in whatever way feels most comfortable.

What happens at the first appointment?

Your first visit is an unhurried conversation. Your provider listens to what you’re experiencing, answers your questions, and works with you on a plan that feels right — no pressure.

Is what I share confidential?

Yes. Your health information is protected under HIPAA. We use it to provide your care, bill your insurance, and run our practice — and beyond that we only share it with your written authorization, or in the narrow situations the law requires (for example, a court order or a serious safety risk). Our Notice of Privacy Practices explains each one.

What if I don’t have insurance?

Cost shouldn’t be a barrier to care. Our self-pay rates are $250 for an initial psychiatric evaluation (about an hour) and $150 for a follow-up visit (about 30 minutes), and sliding-scale options are available. You’ll know what your care will cost before your first appointment — just ask.

### Your right to a Good Faith Estimate

You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate explaining how much your medical care will cost. Under the law, health care providers need to give patients who don’t have insurance or who are not using insurance an estimate of the bill for medical items and services.

Read the full notice

You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of any non-emergency items or services. This includes related costs like medical tests, prescription drugs, equipment, and hospital fees.

Make sure your health care provider gives you a Good Faith Estimate in writing at least 1 business day before your medical service or item. You can also ask your health care provider, and any other provider you choose, for a Good Faith Estimate before you schedule an item or service.

If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you can dispute the bill. Make sure to save a copy or picture of your Good Faith Estimate.

For questions or more information about your right to a Good Faith Estimate, visit [cms.gov/nosurprises](https://www.cms.gov/nosurprises).
